Harvest Brooms Workshop

As summer gives way to autumn, you're invited to join Prairie’s Edge Garden and the Arose Center for an afternoon of seasonal magic!

After a brief seasonal meditation and presentation, you’ll create your own botanical harvest broom using dried flowers, prairie grasses, seed heads, and other natural materials grown and gathered at Prairie’s Edge Garden in Harvard, Illinois.

Together we’ll explore the changing landscape of fall, the plants that sustain our prairie ecosystems, and the tradition of saving and preserving seeds for seasons to come as well as the fascinating folklore of the humble broom.

Enjoy tea and light seasonal snacks while you work, and leave with your handmade broom, a seed packet, and a little inspiration to carry the season home with you.

Registration closes October 2, 2pm. Open to adults 18+. No crafting experience necessary. Workshop will be held outdoors at tables under canopies.
